Crudd Ink is more than a print shop. Crudd Ink's owner Celeste Rudd has experience with traditional as well as experimental printmaking. She also has many years as a freelance graphic designer, web design, social media marketing and many other creative services. In addition, she is a passionate, multifaceted one of a kind artist, facilitator, educator and collaborator living in the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. She has a wide array of skills based in largely in the ideas, processes and criticism curriculum including
human-centered design, ideation,
place-making, murals, event coordination, printmaking, photography, graphic design, 2D and 3d, specifically sculpture, community engagement, urban innovation and collaboration. Her core values include innovation, tenacity, and honesty. She enjoys night photography and can frequently be found whitewater rafting. Human impact on nature often inspires her work.
Art for Celeste is about other people. She is always striving to build up others and believes that art is a great avenue to do so. She wants her art to make bold statements about the changes needed surrounding our environment and society.
Having grown up in Appalachia, Rudd is interested in many facets of the industrial revolution, from coal mining to manufacturing. She was influenced by the region’s rich history of craftsmen and artists. She is intensely inspired by art and culture from all over the world. She works full time for Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg Tennessee as Supply Store and Showcase Gallery Manager. This goes hand in hand with the intense desire to keep arts and crafts alive and thriving in East Tennessee.
